THE IRFU TODAY revealed that Chris Henry has suffered a temporary blockage of a small blood vessel in his brain.
The Ulster flanker was ruled out of the Ireland team on the morning of the South Africa November International after displaying signs of a viral illness.
The 30-year old recovered quickly and an initial diagnosis was made of severe migraine.
However, further tests revealed the blockage and Henry is now resting up at home while he awaits further investigation and specialist opinion.
The IRFU wished Henry all the best in his recovery via their Twitter account:
Elsewhere, Mike McCarthy reported concussion like symptoms in the wake of the Georgia game and is undergoing return to play protocols.
The news is better for both Jared Payne and Rory Best with the former continuing his rehabilitation while the latter is set to train fully this week and is available for selection against Australia.
Fair play to him. Amazing result. Gold for Rhys and Ireland
Brilliant result, well done Rhys
Well done him!
Is that not the greatest individual Irish performance at an international sporting gymnastics event ever?
Well done. Delighted for him especially after the way his Olympics ended
