Chloe Magee's third Olympic campaign begins in defeat

She goes into her last game with a place in the last 16 at stake.

CHLOE MAGEE’S OLYMPIC campaign began with a straight sets defeat to Chinese world number two Yihan Wang this morning.

The Irish badminton star produced a battling performance but Wang’s class told as she took control from the outset to record an emphatic 21-7, 21-12 victory at the Riocentro Pavillion.

Magee won the first point of the match but that was as good as it got for the 27-year-old, whose frustration was evident throughout a game which quickly slipped from her grasp.

The Donegal athlete now faces an uphill task to qualify out of her group with German Karin Schnasse providing the opposition on Saturday night.

If rob keane is your best ever player I feel sorry for Irish football. On another note David Moyes is a fraud to football.

Keane has more goals than any English player ever in international football history…..

Remember England playing Emile Heskey on the wing at the World Cup?? Donkeys that country are at football

Would love to see a full or almost full Aviva tonight, seems to be such a rarity for football matches at it. Not sure of our chances but we did play well away from home against them, COYBIG
