UFC star Chad Mendes popped for 'potential anti-doping violation'

The featherweight was tested by USADA.

CHAD MENDES HAS been flagged for a ‘potential Anti-doping Policy violation’ according to the UFC.

The No 4 ranked featherweight — who lost to Conor McGregor in Las Vegas last summer — is said to have failed an out-of-competition drug test by USADA.

Mendes has not fought since his defeat to Frankie Edgar in December.

“The UFC organisation was notified today that the US Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Chad Mendes of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection,” a UFC statement reads.

“USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”

Why are you calling it a ‘potential anti-doping violation’? Is he supposed to be doping?
