SHAMROCK ROVERS HAVE announced a friendly with Celtic for next month.
The SSE Airtricity League Premier Division club, who have already confirmed that Burnley will visit Tallaght Stadium 14 July, are hosting the Scottish treble-winners a week earlier on 8 July.
The game will act as a warm-up for Celtic’s Champions League qualifier and manager Brendan Rodgers has promised to bring a full first-team squad.
Rovers, meanwhile, are due to play the second leg of their Europa League first qualifying round tie two days earlier.
We’re looking forward to going over and taking Celtic to our great supporters in Ireland and it’s good point in the season to get some pre-season sharpness,” said Rodgers.
“We’ll have a strong team there, we are not sending a Celtic XI or a reserve team, we are bringing the strongest squad that we have. It will be all the first team squad, players and management.”

Thank God it’s not cork or Dundalk playing them. At least the big two can concentrate on Europe while other teams fund Delaney’s wages
@Paul: thank god it’s not Cork or Dundalk as they would hammer Celtic according to the moon units on here.
@Ciaran Rice: haha i enjoyed that Ciaran.Hail Hail.
@Paul: the wheels have fallen off that bandwagon up in Dundalk. Rovers will make a healthy sum from this, playing their 2nd team alongside European money.
