Monaghan 1-15
Cavan 0-15
MONAGHAN WILL FACE Down in the Ulster SFC semi-final after a three point win over Cavan in Kingspan Breffni today.
Ryan Connolly hit the post at the very death as Cavan chased a late equaliser, but Monaghanโs potency in front of goal ultimately proved the difference between the times.
The Farney trailed by two points at the interval but Conor McManusโs timely second-half goal set his side on the road to victory.
Considering the conditions it was a high quality game with 31 scores shared between the sides.
Backed by a strong breeze, Cavan led Monaghan by 0-9 to 0-7 at the interval after an entertaining opening 35 minutes.
Rory Beggan clipped over a couple of impressive placed balls from distance for the Farney, but scores from Cian Mackey, Seanie Johnston and Gearoid McKiernan left the home side two points to the good at the interval.
McManusโs goal midway through the second-half stun Cavan and pushed Monaghan into a lead they wouldnโt surrender.
Owen Duffy and Conor McCarthy curled over scores as Monaghan booked their place in the last four of the province.

Great read.
Fair play Curtis, always a great player, a great ambassador and very articulate.
Great article
Great read, didnโt realise how though his childhood was with his motherโs passing so young. Great determination to bring up his siblings and make an impact across the water.
An inspiring story, hopefully he gets a chance to coach in England in the future
Great read. He makes a good point about number of BAME managers versus number of BAME playersโฆ The former should be much higher.
Interesting guy,i hope his coaching career brings success.
I remember Curtis when he worked in a newsagents in Talbot street Dublin 1

Great article. Letโs not shy away from our shortcomings as a country, no one should be victim to this sort of abuse. Welcome the diverse next generation of Ireland
A Boro legend
Curtis is a legend. Racism is a cancer destroying society.
Who gives a fuvk if you slate brown white back who cares your Irish x
@BriP75: stupid comment. Evidently some people cared enough about his skin colour to racially abuse the man growing up. That sort of ignorant attitude is the reason why racism still exists in society. Educate yourselfโฆ
