Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Benzema says he 'laughs about' rumours linking him with Arsenal

So that’s a no, then?

REAL MADRID ACE Karim Benzema has revealed that there has never been any chance of him joining Arsenal, admitting that he laughs about the rumours with his brother and friends.

The France international was once again linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium during the summer, but a transfer never materialised.

And the striker has now explained that he is amused by the constant speculation, given he has no intention of leaving the Santiago Bernabeu.

Indeed, when asked during an interview with Journal du Dimanche if he had ever come close to swapping Madrid for Arsenal, he replied: “Never. Like every summer, I laugh about it with my brother and my friends. We wait for the media to come out with these rumours.

“In my opinion, I think that Real and Barca are the pinnacle in football. Why I would leave? I’m a starter for the best club in the world. I am happy; it’s that simple.”

Benzema, who joined Madrid from Lyon for €35 million in the summer of 2009, has scored six times in as many Liga outings so far this term.

It’s fair enough, if you’re happy at a club you’d obviously laugh at reports and speculation linking you away. But I can’t help but feel he’s an arrogant man who thinks football revolves around Madrid and barca.. Mate your fans won’t even remember you when you’ve gone such is the mentality with them. If He joined in a top 4 premier league club and played how he has been paying he’d be regarded highly. Paying with Madrid these days is a novelty unless your in the same caliper as Ronaldo.

But he has a great chance of winning leagues and champions league with Madrid that would never happen with the likes of Arsenal..

what kind of crap is that ! he is playing and scoring regularly for real Madrid. why would he want to play in the cold and wet reality of the premier league. none of the PL clubs come near real Madrid for history and status while real can compete comfortably with them for money.

I’ve always thought this guy is slightly overrated, surprised he’s still there to be honest, it’s relatively easy latch onto a few goals if you’ve the likes of Ronaldo and bale running defences ragged

Come off it, he’s a quality striker, amazing finisher, deadly in and around the box and would walk into any PL side, sour grapes.

Then in 2 years he will state it was always his dream to play for arsenal after signing. I’m say ozil said the same but he hasn’t played for arsenal yet so might be a bad example …
