HERE’S A FREE clip from the latest episode of Behind The Lines as Dave Zirin joins host Gavin Cooney to discuss his new book — The Kaepernick Effect.
Dave also contextualises Kaepernick in the lineage of the great American activist athletes that went before him.
We talk about how Kaepernick has been shunned by the NFL, what he is doing now, and how comfortable Kaepernick is with his commodification by corporate America (Ben and Jerry’s have released a Colin Kapernick ice-cream).

A timely warning ahead of the Wales game. Gatland gone, they will have a bounce from it and the new coach is bringing back people who never should have been dropped. Pride comes before a fall.
@John Moore: They don’t have the players for a bounce.
A win is a win, just goes to show you can’t take any team for granted
Don’t forget this is the Leinster seconds , and they Still won away from home
@Michael Fehily: Ara they only had yo bring a 2-time World Cup winner off the bench to get them over the line.
@Terry o donnell: That’s why you have them in the squad in the first place.
Leinster have used 54 players this season, that’s almost four different teams. I don’t think any other club could afford to pay so many players. Where are they getting all the money from?
@Max: 9 players on central contract and they use the Aviva Stadium which holds 60000, more than Musgrave Pk, Thomond and Sports ground combined, and the Aviva is in the biggest population centre in the country so no problem filling it!
The first try aside it was an awful performance by Leinster.
Yea a bit disjointed-but a few dozen lads aren’t with the team.
Hanging on though ? ?
Nah.
