'I am a man. I can only take so much. I want to leave' - Barton set for QPR exit

The QPR midfielder has criticised the manner in which his ostensibly imminent departure is being handled.

QUEENS PARK RANGERS midfielder Joey Barton said via Twitter today that he hopes a mooted loan move to French Ligue 1 club Marseille will go through this week.

In a series of tweets, Barton said: โ€œI accepted all this. I never once spoke out of turn or angrily towards anybody. I am a man. I can only take so much. I want to leave.โ€

He added: โ€œThen, I have my shirt number taken without any notice. Then, I read I wouldnโ€™t of been signed had the current regime been in place.

โ€œMarseille won again as well. Allez les Marseillais. Maybe Iโ€™ll see you all this week?

โ€œI am hopefully (sic) that things will be sorted out soon. Other clubs are in but I only want to play in Marseille. This is the place for meโ€ฆ

โ€œHopefully, QPR and Marseille can finalise the deal in the next few days. My heart is already in the Velodrome,โ€ he added, in reference to the home of the club, whose 1-0 win at Montpellier on Sunday saw them move top of Ligue 1.

Marseille were first linked with Barton earlier this month.

The player, who turns 30 in September, is currently serving a 12-match ban from English football as a punishment for a red card and subsequent conduct on the final day of last season against Manchester City.

Imagine the poor fecker that was marking him. The first shoulder of the game and theyโ€™d be pulling him out of next week.

His marker won the first two balls in the air off him and kicked 3 points. Not too shoddy!
