IT’S UNLIKELY ANYONE will ever come close to matching the record of Sir Alex Ferguson in his 27 years at Old Trafford.
In nearly three decades of unprecedented success for Manchester United, Ferguson secured 13 league titles in addition to a host of other trophies
In the midst of his success in September 2002, Ferguson declared: “My greatest challenge was knocking Liverpool right off their f****** perch.”
Domestically he undoubtedly succeeded in helping United to surpass Liverpool’s long-standing record of 18 league titles but in winning two European Cups he couldn’t quite match their five trophies.
Here’s the roll of honour in full:
Community Shield (10): 1990 (shared), 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2003, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011
UEFA Champions League (2): 1998-99, 2007-08
UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup (1): 1990-91
UEFA Super Cup (1): 1991
Intercontinental Cup (1): 1999
FIFA Club World Cup (1): 2008
serious haul of trophies. I wonder how successful he would have been without Keane. United won nothing during his 97-98 season of absence.
The impossible dream… Made possible! Thanks Fergie!
i cant forget his greatness
