Ireland's Alan Judge boosts Euro 2016 chances with superb solo goal

The Brentford attacker netted his 13th Championship goal of the season against Derby County.

ALAN JUDGE CONTINUED his fine form for Brentford yesterday when they welcomed Derby County to Griffin Park.

The 27-year-old Dubliner gave his side the lead with a fine solo effort, intercepting a pass just inside his own half before firing the ball home from a narrow angle.

Brentford were ultimately beaten 3-1, however, with Irish international duo Jeff Hendrick and Cyrus Christie among the goals for Derby.

The goal was Judge’s 13th of the season in the Championship, which will do his hopes of securing a place in the Republic of Ireland squad for Euro 2016 no harm whatsoever.

Judge has never been capped for his country at senior level, although he was in the squad for the play-off against Bosnia and Herzegovina back in November.

If he continues to produce the goods at club level over the coming weeks, as he did yesterday, it’ll surely be difficult for Martin O’Neill to leave him out of his squad for France this summer.

Home team name first, why disrespect Leitrim, regardless of favorite’s tag.

Does anybody know if there’s any periscope streams for any of the games? Castlehaven did it for a recent Club Championship game. I think its a great idea. Louth vs Westmeath will probably be a good competitive game but very few will get to see it, the same with Offaly Longford last night. I think Periscope could solve this!!!
