1. Kevin Keegan’s ‘love it’ rant
WITH THE TITLE slipping out of Newcastle’s hands in the 1995-96 season, Keegan, clearly irritated by Alex Ferguson’s suggestion that Leeds had raised their game against the Red Devils, declared that he would “love it” if the Magpies beat United.
2. Giovanni Trapattoni’s Bayern outburst
Feeling the pressure at Bayern, the one-time Ireland coach made no attempt to hide his anger at the way things were panning out at the club.
3. ‘Which one is Simon Bird?’
After suspecting the club had been the subject of unfair criticism in the media, the then-Newcastle boss didn’t hold back in letting his feelings be known.
4. ‘You don’t listen really well to me’
Annoyed after dropping points to Hull, the Arsenal boss took exception to a BBC reporter’s apparent misinterpretation of what he claimed had gone wrong on the day.
5. ‘Typical Germans’
Alex Ferguson was fuming after he believed Bayern players had got United player Rafael da Silva sent off during a Champions League clash between the sides.
6. ‘Whose phone is that?’
An epic rant in which Keane castigated both the FAI and the Irish team for failing to overcome France in a World Cup playoff, the then-Ipswich manager became even more peeved when he was interrupted by a reporter’s mobile phone.
7. ‘No wonder he’s in the f**king reserves’
Veteran manager Harry Redknapp once did not take kindly to a ball being accidentally struck at him while the coach was conducting an interview. The manager’s anger was clear from his response.
8. ‘We’re being lectured in our own home’
Famously confrontational, then-Nottingham Forest boss Brian Clough decided to outline his issues with Match of the Day to reporter John Motson during one frosty interview.
9. ‘You can sit there and play with your silly little machines as much as you like’
After Coventry were beaten and their relegation worries deepened, Ron Atkinson was not happy with Sky’s Richard Keys’ suggestion that the side were underperforming.
Jaysus Clough was some legend
Where is the Steve Staunton “i’m the gaffa the buck stops with me” interview?
Sir Red nose has to be top of the pops!
He’s looking pretty healthy in that interview though, obviously on the sugar-free gum
I reckon that Trap clip should be used the same way that clip from the Hitler movie ‘Downfall’ is always used. Change the text to show him giving out about Reid, Hoolihan and of course Tony O’Donaghue.
Best of all time I reckon .. Clough to do what he did with forest will never be equaled !!!
