AFTER CREATING HISTORY by landing their fifth successive All-Ireland football title, Dublin lead the way with 13 nominees for the 2019 PwC Football All-Stars.
11 counties in total โ the same number as last year โ have representatives on the 45-player shortlist which has been released this morning.
Champions Dublin have one more nominee than last year with beaten finalists Kerry having nine players recognised and there are six Donegal players in the running.
League champions Mayo have four players with three apiece from All-Ireland semi-finalists Tyrone and Leinster finalists Meath.
There are two from Connacht champions Roscommon (Niall Daly and Conor Cox) and Ulster outfit Armagh (Jarlath รg Burns and Rian OโNeill) with Cork (Brian Hurley), Clare (Jamie Malone) and Cavan (Conor Moynagh) all having inclusions.

Cluxton has to get it..has to.
@SFNutters: give it to Giggs
Iโm waiting for the comments saying the Dublin players only got nominated because itโs all so unfairโฆโฆโฆ..
@Deborah Blacoe:
Or in other words โ โcan someone please say something to outrage me!โ
@gags: Ha, ha. No, just looking to liven things up a bit. All a little serious. But I suppose sport us a very serious business?
@Deborah Blacoe: The Dublin players only got nominated because itโs so unfairโฆโฆโฆ..
Btw .. are you Toyah Wilcox?
@Logan Shepherd: Iโve been called lots of things, but thatโs a first for Toyah Wilcox. Great artist. Loved her.
@Deborah Blacoe: You do look really like her ..
They should revert back to the old way of being only nominated for your position.
@raymond flynn: why? The positions arenโt have much relevance in modern football anyway with all the movement around the place. You might as well make sure the best 15 footballers in the country get an award, regardless of where they play.
Would like to hear the thought process behind some of those nominations.
Cooper punished further for that red card in the drawn AI final? Donegal 6 for not reaching the last 4 and only 3 for Tyrone?
Meath getting more than Roscommon although they didnโt beat any team of the standard of Mayo and Galway and Armagh getting two when 1 was probably enough.
Cork had probably two better forwards this summer than Hurley who was nominated. I could go on..
@john miller: donegal lost 1 game in the championship this year only kerry and dublin have a better record. + they are Ulster champions. But saying that only murphy deserves an all star
@john miller: the 3 meath lads had an excellent season. Keogan deserves an all star he was immense
@john miller: it used to be the case that if you got a red card it excluded you from the All Stars. Not sure if thatโs still the case though
@john miller: Cooper missing most of championship with injury is also a major factor youโre disregarding.
@Yorkie1892: good seasons with Keogan the clear stand out but I think the six All star defenders will be Fitzsimmons McNamee, ร Sullivan, Durcan, Mccarthy and McCaffrey.
No Mayo forwards in the conversation sums up why they are where they are, Aiden Oโ Shea has no business taking a nomination either.
Delighted to see a Clare man on this but not having Gary Brennan is just ridiculous on this years form. If they were at enough games to nominate Jamie (who had a fabulous year and nomination well deserved) then how did they miss Gary?
Can somone tell me how Dean Rock managed to get nominated. Had 3 good matchs all year.
@Doire: probably scoring ten points in an All Ireland Final has something to do with it.
@my name: so play one good game and get a all-star. Wise up lads. Eoin murchan played well in replay scored a goal too he sure to get one.
@Doire: Can you name many players that have scored 10 points in a final? He hasnโt gotten an All Star for anything though, heโs just been nominated
@my name: what does that matter. 10 from play no! Killiane Spillane scored 1-1 in about 9 mins does that get nominated. Why was Cormac Costello not nominated?
@Doire: Iโll do the maths for you will I?
@Doire: Dublinโs top scoring forward for Dublin, only McShane and Seรกn รณ Shea scored more than him this summer.
OโShea and MDMA only nominated because of their names. No Gary Brennan is a farce. Cleaned Brian Menton when they played, and OโShea not half the midfielder he is!
Andy Moran would be a great wild card
