It was like an episode of Jeremy Kyle at the Plymouth versus Millwall game tonight

One man desperately wanted to say sorry to his very angry wife.

WE’VE ALL BEEN there.

You’ve had an argument with the missus and feel bad. So, you want to make it up to her and apologise.

Flowers? Chocolates? A fancy meal? All of the above?

Well, for one Plymouth Argyle fan, he came up with something a little different.

Earlier tonight, the League Two side were in action against Millwall in their Football League Trophy clash.

The club trailed 2-1 at the break when the PA announcer took to the microphone with a special message from one grovelling lad, seeking forgiveness from a very angry wife.

“He did a stupid thing, he’s very sorry for hurting you…please, please forgive him.”

The fans weren’t exactly impressed and roundly booed to show their disapproval.

We wait anxiously to find out whether the wife was bowled over by such a romantic gesture.

Adding further misery to the chap’s evening, Argyle were thumped 5-2.
