MUNSTER WERE TODAY able to issue positive news in the shape of two Lions back in training.
Conor Murray and Simon Zebo will both lace up their boots at the University of Limerick this week as Rob Penney prepares his side for Saturday’s visit to face Gloucester in the Heineken Cup.

The prolific winger has an outside chance of lining out for the first time since fracturing a bone in his foot in the defeat to Edinburgh in October. However, Penney’s main hope must be that his first choice scrum-half will have some part to play at Kingsholm.
“Hopefully, everything being equal, and the work that’s being done by the medical team behind the scene comes to fruition this week.”
The main uncertainties arising from Friday’s defeat in Ravenhill are Cathal Sheridan (knee) and Damien Varley (foot). The scrum-half and last remaining senior hooker will undergo a scan later today to examine the extent of their injuries.
The other faces returning to training will be Keith Earls (shoulder), James Downey, JJ Hanrahan (both groin) and James Cronin (back) though the latter two will continue to be monitored as the week progresses.
A knee injury forced Donncha O’Callaghan out of Friday’s defeat to Ulster after just 30 minutes, but the veteran lock has been given a positive prognosis and will also join in training late in the week along with Sean Dougall.
