SIMON ZEBO WILL start his first game in a Lions jersey tomorrow morning. And the Corkman fully intends to make an impression.
Zebo left Irish camp in Houston this week and joined up with Warren Gatland’s tourists in Sydney in the wake of Tommy Bowe’s hand injury scare.
And the Munster back will not pushed in at the deep end at Waratah’s tomorrow knowing a place in the Test side is very much within his grasp.
“It’s an opportunity for all 23 players that take the field tomorrow night,” Zebo told reporters earlier. “I suppose this is my first run out but for the players any time you get to wear that special red jersey is an honour and an opportunity. These series don’t come around too often so any time you get to represent the Lions you do it with pride. We’ll be looking to put our best foot forward and hopefully that’s something we do tomorrow.”

“It’s a game of rugby and I’m going to do what I always do which is have fun playing rugby. If any player goes out and shows what they’re able to do they’re in with a chance. You never go out to have a bad game so if I have a good one I’ll surely be in with a shout. So, happy out.
“There’s an opportunity there and I’m just delighted I’ve been given the chance to start and show what I can do. Hopefully we can put it a good performance collectively and on the back of that personally if play well I might be in with a shout,” he added.
