Young jockey Jack Tyner passes away after fall

Amateur rider loses fight for life after fall at Dungarvan point-to-point.

The 19-year-old son of Kinsale trainer Robert Tyner has died in Cork University Hospital.

Jack Tyner passed away overnight as a result of injuries suffered in a point-to-point fall on Tuesday in Dungarvan.

After riding a winner in the first race, his mount Dusmagic took a heavy fall at the first fence in the next.

The jockey’s condition had been described as “stable” by his father on Thursday.

He passed away early this morning at CUH.
