After suffering a 2-0 defeat to last year’s winners Romania in the opener on Friday, Ireland bounced back to pull off a hard-earned 1-0 win over Sweden later that day.
They went into their final group game with Belarus needing three points and came up trumps – sealing a 2-0 victory. Their tournament came to an end on Saturday, however, when they were undone by a strong Russian outfit.
Football and BBQs aside, YBIG also got the chance to pay visits to an orphanage and a camp for disadvantage children during their stay in Lviv.
The group regularly contributes to local charities on their trips abroad and donated several hundred euro as well as hampers with toys and clothes, which they had collected back in Ireland.
