Trevor Halstead, the South African centre that scored a try in the 2006 Heineken Cup Final win, briefly quit the game as a 16-year-old [in 1992] after succumbing to a series of knee injuries. He strengthened his leg muscles before making a comeback that would benefit Munster over a decade later.
