WrestleMania XXVIII: Sheamus wins World Heavyweight title in 18 seconds

The Dubliner didn’t waste any time at Florida’s Sun Life Stadium last night.

IRELAND HAS A new world heavyweight champion in the shape of WWE wrestler Sheamus.

The Cabra man met Daniel Bryan in the opening match of the main card at WrestleMania 28 in Florida’s Miami Gardens during the early hours of this morning and clinched the title in controversial fashion as script writers chose to end the fight in record time.

Bryan had just received a good luck kiss from his missus AJ when Sheamus caught his opponent with a trademark ‘Brogue Kick’ before pinning him for the count in front of a 78,000-strong crowd.

The swift outcome left many fans unhappy afterwards while Paddy Power, who were taking bets on the event, had been offering 2/7 for the red head to emerge victorious.
