FORMER WORLD NUMBER one Caroline Wozniacki has won her first title in 13 months, storming to victory at the Korea Open on Sunday.
Now ranked outside the world’s top ten, Wozniacki dropped just one game in a dominant 6-1 6-0 victory over hapless Estonian Kaia Kanepi.
The top-seeded Dane took just over an hour to defeat Kanepi, who knocked her out of the French Open in the third round earlier this year, and ended her lengthy streak without a WTA title.
“I just want to build up for the next season. And it’s been a long season so I want to have a holiday and relax,” Wozniacki said after claiming her 19th WTA title.
“I don’t think about ranking. I’m just happy I won the tournament. I would like to enjoy that. I want to be positive, and that’s what I’m thinking about right now.”
