Is this the worst debut ever?

Maximilian Hofmann was sent off for giving away a penalty in the FIRST MINUTE. Oh dear.

YOU’VE GOT TO feel for Maximilian Hofmann.

The 19-year-old, who is the younger brother of club captain Steffen, was making his debut for Rapid Vienna against Sturm Graz in the Austrian Bundesliga yesterday – but didn’t last very long.

The centre-half chopped down an opponent inside the box after just 46 seconds and was then shown a straight red card. Sturm Graz scored from the spot-kick but Rapid went on to win 4-2 despite playing the rest of the game with 10 men.

It’s got to be up there as one of the worst debuts we’ve come across in awhile. Jonathan Woodgate’s first game for Real Madrid springs to mind – the English defender scored an own-goal before being sent off against Athletic Bilbao.

I doubt Paul knows or cares a lot about football, asking Suaraz to come out before the end of the season like that!
