TIGER WOODS WILL have a rare weekend off after missing the cut at the Greenbrier Classic by a single stroke on Friday.
The world number four won the AT&T National at Congressional last Sunday but was unable to take that form to The Old White, following an opening 71 with a 69 to finish on even par for the tournament.
“I didn’t quite have it,” Woods admitted.
“I drove it really good today and I just did not have the feel for the distances. The ball was just going forever. I know we’re at altitude, but I just couldn’t get the ball hit pin high no matter what I did, and subsequently, I made some bogeys.”
Another man who failed to advance was Phil Mickelson, marking the first time the American duo have failed to make the cut in the same tournament as professionals.

Woods said he was looking forward to the upcoming Open Championship, and getting back down to sea level.
“Yeah, because it’s not going to be this warm and we’re not going to be at altitude. We’ll be on the beach,” he added.
Webb Simpson leads the tournament on nine-under par, having followed his opening 65 with a 66 in round two.
