Tipperary 0-12
Waterford 1-9
It was honours even in today’s battle between the Munster rivals in Clonmel. Tipperary entered the game on the back of a comprehensive win over Carlow last week while Waterford had lost out on home soil to Clare.
The teams traded points in the early stages with Paul Whyte and JJ Hutchinson on the mark for Waterford while Conor Sweeney and Phillip Austin raised white flags for Tipperary.
Waterford made a key intervention before the break when Whyte despatched a penalty to the net after Liam O’Lionain had been fouled. Waterford lead 1-4 to 0-5 at half-time before Tipperary emerged strongly in the early stages of the second-half and they were 0-11 to 1-6 ahead with 12 minutes remaining.
Waterford then reeled off three points without reply and Whyte looked to have hit the match winner before Austin struck the levelling score late on.
Clare 1-8
Leitrim 0-11

Clare made the early running to lead by 0-3 to 0-1 at the end of the opening quarter with Martin O’Leary, Sean Collins and Gary Brennan all firing over points. Emlyn Mulligan kept Leitrim in touch with points before he then bagged a goal with three minutes remaining before the interval.
The teams were level at 1-3 to 0-6 at the break but Clare forged ahead in the second-half with Brennan, Michael O’Shea and O’Leary sending them 0-11 to 1-6 clear entering injury-time. However late points from Ray Cox and a Mulligan free rescued a draw for Leitrim.
