When "celebrities" attack: the best bits from Michael Owen and Piers Morgan's Twitter spat

If it wasn’t so cringeworthy, it’d almost be funny.

TV STAR and well-known Arsenal fan Piers Morgan is rapidly becoming the chief tormentor of Manchester United’s Twitter-using players.

In recent weeks, Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney have both been on the receiving end of the chat show host’s 140-character barbs. Last night, however, it was turn of sparingly-used striker Michael Owen.

Our inner historian has encouraged us to preserve the debate for posterity – you know, as a sign of the current intellectual health of the human race or something like that – so we’ve included a slideshow of the spat’s best bits.

Who do you think was the winner? Or is this one of those occasions when everyone loses?

To get down to grammatical error in a debate is nothing short of anal. That said, getting wound up by a div like Morgan speaks volumes about the calibre of twat that Owen is too. They were both losers before the debate if u ask me. Why should this nappy slapping session alter that in any way?

Morgan is a Parasite, living off other peoples misery!

I’d even say those feet eating fish, have a higher standing in life than him!

I may be biased because I’m an United fan but slagging someone off because they changed clubs is just stupid if you ask me. If another tv company offered Morgan more money and better conditions and a chance to actually win awards, would he stay at his current position? I doubt that.

Michael Owen may not play as much these days but he has still won more honours than any of Morgan’s beloved Arsenal players. Personally i think its better to contribute (albeit in a small way) in winning a few trophies than to contribute in winning nothing.
