What we learned this weekend...

There’s plenty of lessons to learn from another busy weekend of sport. Even for those of you at the back of the class.

1. Floyd Mayweather is friends with 50 Cent

Sure why wouldn’t he be?

The pair turned up at the Foxwoods resort in Conneticut to watch Victor Ortiz upset previously unbeaten Andre Berto to take the WBC welterweight championship.

As the cameras panned to Money and Fiddy at ringside, the former pound for pound champ was heckled by the capacity crowd.

The message was simple: fight Pacquiao.

Here’s the clip, with apologies for the ridiculous Youtube footage title.

2. It’s not over ’til it’s over

Shamrock Rovers fans left Dalymount Park with a point that felt like three after their side’s late, late equaliser on Friday night.

Ronan Finn rose highest in the 93rd-minute to head home a corner and earn an unlikely point for the Hoops.

3. Kevin Durrant is not human

The NBA play-off tipped off stateside. Check out everything you missed – or just watch this clip over and over again.

4. We have an ice hockey team…

And one of the team members faces trial in Croatia  for damaging property whilst on a night out following the team’s world championship exit.

Ross O’Driscoll, 31, has been indicted by the court authorities for the destruction and damage to other people’s property and now faces trial.

5. Don’t fight Amir Khan on his own patch

Paul McCloskey’s light-welterweight title fight against Amir Khan was controversially stopped after just six rounds in Manchester on Saturday night.

Check out the details here – but here’s the video.
