IRELAND MAY HAVE fallen short in their bid to win their three-Test series against South Africa this past summer, but they did achieve one significant milestone.
Despite losing CJ Stander to a first-half red card, Joe Schmidt’s side went on to record a 20-26 win over the Springboks in the first Test at Newlands. It was Ireland’s first taste of victory on South African soil.
The Springboks rebounded to win the second and third Tests — both by six-point margins — but it was a tour that Ireland took plenty of positives from.
An hour-long programme produced by Vodafone — ‘What We Did Last Summer’ — which will document the tour is set to air on RTÉ One at 10.15pm on Thursday, 10 November and it looks likely to make for intriguing viewing.
According to the billing, the documentary ”captures the highs, lows and emotional reactions of not only the players and management team, but their families, friends and support network back home too.”
