JOE WARD WILL not be at the Olympics games in London this summer.
The light-heavyweight lost out in controversial circumstances to a hometown favourite on Monday night and a subsequent appeal against the judges’ decision was later rejected by tournament organisers.
Yesterday, the Westmeath fighter and his team-mates — including Paddy Barnes and Adam Nolan, who fight today — took time out from the action on their rest day to blow off some steam.
Both Darren O’Neill and former Olympic champ Michael Carruth told us this week that Ward has time on his side.
