NORWICH MIDFIELDER WES Hoolahan has emerged as a doubt for Ireland’s Euro 2016 qualifier against Scotland on 14 November at Celtic Park.
The 32-year-old ex-Shelbourne player had to be helped off the pitch during Norwich’s 1-0 loss to Fulham at the weekend, and the playmaker is expected to be out for an extended period as a result.
“He’s in a protective boot, obviously we’ll have to look at him and scan him, but he said straight away that it wasn’t a great one,” Norwich boss Neil Adams told reporters after the game.
“Fingers crossed, but it doesn’t look good at the minute.”
Ireland currently sit level on points with Poland at the top of Group D, and Martin O’Neill’s side will view next month’s encounter as an opportunity to pull away from one of their main rivals for Euro 2016 qualification.
