Wes Hoolahan celebrates Player of the Season award with final-day brace

Overall, he has made more than 300 appearances and scored over 50 goals for the Canaries

WES HOOLAHAN CELEBRATED winning Norwichโ€™s Player of the Season award with two goals as they beat QPR 4-0 on the Championshipโ€™s final day at Carrow Road, in a game which also featured Irish youngsters Ryan Manning and Reece Grego-Cox for the visitors.

The Irish intermational opened the scoring on 22 minutes, firing the ball into the corner of the net from the edge of the box.

The former Shelbourne player then got his second of the afternoon in second-half stoppage time, slotting the ball home from Cameron Jeromeโ€™s pass.

It means Hoolahan finishes the season with seven goals in 33 appearances. Overall, he has made more than 300 appearances and scored over 50 goals for the Canaries, with the star set to have his testimonial next season.

His performance today will come as good news to Irish boss Martin Oโ€™Neill, who names his squad for the upcoming games against Mexico, Uruguay and Austria on 15 May.

The way he places the ball at the refโ€™s feet in that first gif is hilarious. He was unbelievable at the breakdown on Saturday. An absolute tank.

Zebo didnโ€™t have 4 big positives like this, did he? SOB no pistaches, either.

I was myself happy both played well (we need an alternative to Kearney) but SOB was clearly better.

I reckon that a back row of O Mahony, Henry and O Brien is our best scavenging back row.
I would love to see it against a team like Australia who could play Pocock and Hooper.
