Wes Hoolahan finally called up to Ireland squad by Trapattoni

The Norwich City playmaker gets the nod ahead of the Serbia friendly as a replacement for the injured Darron Gibson.

NORWICH CITY MIDFIELDER Wes Hoolahan has been called up to the Ireland senior squad by Giovanni Trapattoni.

The former Shelbourne man will link up with the panel ahead of the game in Serbia on 15 August.

Everton’s Darron Gibson has been ruled out of the international friendly after sustaining a tear to his left thigh during pre-season training with the Toffees, the FAI have confirmed today.

The squad will convene in Dublin on 12 August.
