“It was difficult to talk about that openly on television but they kept probing me and eventually they got the full story. I tried to talk about it in a positive way and show that you can overcome your issues and be happy because I didn’t want them to turn it into a sob story. I think they did do that. You have good days and bad days. It is like having an injury really. I don’t want there to be a stigma around mental health. You are never really free of it; it’s like a ‘keep your friends close and your enemies closer’ kind of thing’.”
