Weather affects play at Solheim Cup

Heavy rain has forced officials to halt play as Europe lead the US by a point in Co. Meath.

HEAVY RAIN HAS delayed action at the final day of the Solheim Cup for a second time.

Europe are currently one point ahead of their rivals and are up in five of the singles matches with three more matches finely balanced at all square.

The US are up in three games and were also hit by the withdrawal (because of injury) of Cristie Kerr, whose injury saw Europe gain a point on Sunday morning.

However, heavy showers has forced officials to bring a halt to the play with the greens at Killeen Castle filling with standing water.
