WAYNE ROONEY MADE two assists in his first game of the season for Manchester United but one photo, taken by a Red Devils fan, has summed up his precarious position at the club.
The forward, who has been the subject of two transfer bids from Chelsea, did not celebrate with Robin van Persie and his United teammates after the Dutchman rifled in his second goal of the game. Instead, he chose to stroll back to his own half to await the restart.

The amazing photo of an isolated Rooney was captured by a Manchester United supporter [@Luhzniki2008 -- a reference to the European Cup Final win in Moscow] in the away fans’ section at The Liberty Stadium. It has since featured on television shows, newspapers and across social media in the past 24 hours.
“Wayne did well when he came on,” said Moyes. “He made a great run, which opened up room for Robin to get onto his left foot for his [second] goal. Also, the ball he slipped through for Danny [Welbeck's second goal] was lovely weighted. He helped the team today and played a part in getting a good result.
“[Wayne] got quite a bad kick down the back of his Achilles’. We’ll just check it. He’s still lacking match fitness but, overall, I got another 30 minutes to get him on.” He added:
It’s very difficult, when you cross the white line, not to be committed because lots of people are judging… I thought when he went on he was incredibly committed to the team and helped set up two goals.”
As for his first league victory with the club, Moyes said the player’s had a ‘winning habit’. He revealed that he got a ‘good luck’ text from former United boss Alex Ferguson.
