Spotting Adrian a couple of yards off his line, Rooney rifled the ball over the goalkeeper’s head from a couple of a yards inside the opposition half.
Superb technique and one for the Goal of the Season shortlist, surely.
It has already been compared to David Beckham’s famous goal against Wimbledon so it’s just as well that this fella was there to see it for himself:
