WAYNE ROONEY WAS a happy man after breaking Bobby Charlton’s international goalscoring record last night.

The Man United striker scored a late penalty, his 50th goal at international level, as England — who had already secured their qualification for Euro 2016 — beat Switzerland 2-0.

Afterwards, Rooney spoke about this “huge” moment and encouraged England’s other attackers to aspire to similarly prolific heights.
