Is this the game-changing endorsement* that will seal Barack Obama's re-election?

*Hint: when you see who it is, you’ll know it’s not.

THE US PRESIDENTIAL election is shaping up to be one of the tightest in history, but with less than two weeks to go until voting day, Barack Obama has tied up an unexpected endorsement — from Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney.

Rooney is not exactly known for his political insight but he has been paying very close attention to the White House race between Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

“Watched all the presidential debates,” he tweeted last night. “If I had to vote would vote Obama.”

Sorry Mitt, but that’s a game changer. If the pres wins re-election for a second term, expect “Mr W Rooney + 1″ to feature on the guest list for the inauguration ball.
