Club record signing Etienne Capoue is one of 12 new faces at Watford, and there could be even more.

Premier League team have 'too many' players but will 'probably' sign even more

Watford manager says his squad is too big, but the club will still make more additions.

IS THE FORMER Atletico Madrid boss already getting frustrated in the Premier League?

Watford coach Quique Sanchez Flores has issued concerns over his bloated squad size and admits he sees no end to the continued growth as the transfer window closure edges nearer.

Following promotion to the top flight last season, the Championship runners-up have brought in 12 new faces to Vicarage Road, with seven of those starting in Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Southampton.

Watford can only name 17 overseas players in their final Premier League squad but with 21 players already registered, Flores believes maintaining morale across his bulky team will be tough.

“It is difficult because I want the players to feel happy,” he said.

“We have a lot of players who are not on the list and there are a lot of players who want the possibility to play.

“We are a new team and we are creating a new base. Everything is new.

“We have how many new players? Too many.”

He went on to suggest that the signing of players is out of his control, whether or not he’s happy with his squad’s make-up.

“It is important not to create bad feelings with the new players. Will there be more signings? Probably.

“Because we have been working this way for the last two months to complete the final squad.”
