Waterford Crystal Cup: Winning starts for Cork and Limerick

The Rebels saw off UCC while Limerick were too strong for Mary Immaculate.

BOTH CORK AND Limerick sealed wins over college opposition in the Waterford Crystal Cup today.

The Rebel’s new skipper Pa Cronin lead his side to a 3-20 to 1-16 win over UCC at the Mardyke. Pat Horgan netted twice either side of a Paudie O’Sullivan goal.

Jimmy Barry Murphy’s side will face Waterford IT on Leeside next week.

Limerick, meanwhile, ran out comfortable 3-15 to 0-13 winners over Mary Immaculate College at Kilmallock. Shane Dowling struck a hat-trick for John Allen’s side who will face Tipperary next time out.
