Brian O'Halloran asked to fill Pauric O'Mahony's boots for Waterford hurlers against Cork

Derek McGrath has shown his hand.

THE LAST TIME Cork and Waterford met, the Déise embarrassed their Munster neighbours and claimed a famous league title.

This weekend however they’ll attempt to reprise that performance without their top scorer through that campaign Pauric O’Mahony, who snapped his tibia in a club game soon afterwards.

Brian O’Halloran has been named in his stead in the Waterford XV which was released by the county board this evening.

The Clashmore club man featured in the league final, scoring a point after his introduction from the bench.

Derek McGrath’s side face the Rebels at Semple Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The side is:

1. Stephen O’Keeffe (Ballygunner)

2. Shane Fives (Tourin)

3. Barry Coughlan (Ballygunner)

4. Noel Connors (Passage)

5. Tadhg de Búrca (Clashmore/Kinsalebeg)

6. Austin Gleeson (Mount Sion)

7. Philip Mahony (Ballygunner)

8. Jamie Barron (Fourmilewater)

9. Maurice Shanahan (Lismore)

10. Kevin Moran (De La Salle)

11. Stephen Bennett (Ballysaggart)

12. Jake Dillon (De La Salle)

13. Brian O’Halloran (Clashmore)

14. Michael Walsh (Stradbally)

15. Colin Dunford (Colligan)

Ger Cunningham has named the Dublin side for the Leinster championship quarter-final replay against Galway.
