CORK BATTLED BACK from eight points down at half-time to secure a draw in this afternoon’s Allianz NHL Division 1A clash against Waterford.
Stephen Moylan pounced for a crucial 41st minute goal in the Fraher Field in Dungarvan to revive the Cork challenge after Waterford had led by 0-10 to 0-2 at half-time.
The sides traded early scores before Waterford hit four unanswered points to lead by 0-5 to 0-1 with 15 minutes on the watch.
Brian O’Halloran hit a brace of points during this purple patch for Michael Ryan’s Déise before Pat Horgan’s pointed free stopped the rot for the visiting Rebels.
But that 17th minute free was Cork’s final score of the opening half as Waterford went on to dominate until half-time.Shane O’Sullivan, Brian O’Sullivan and Seamus Prendergast were among the scorers before the break as Waterford cruised into an eight-point lead.
