WALES FULL-BACK LEIGH HALFPENNY has been discharged from hospital, following the nasty neck injury he received in the defeat to Australia on Saturday.
Halfpenny had to be stretchered off after receiving more than six minutes of treatment on the Millennium Stadium pitch.
He was forced to receive oxygen and was immediately taken to University of Wales hospital where, thankfully, no major damage to his neck was detected.
“I want to say thank you to all of the medical teams who have looked after me following my injury yesterday,” said Halfpenny.
“The paramedics, WRU and Millennium Stadium medical teams were outstanding. All of the staff at University Hospital Wales were also amazing.

“Everyone has been so supportive and the care that I have had has been incredibly professional and second to none. I’d also like to thank all of those who have been sending me messages of support following the injury.”
The 23-year-old will now have a period of recuperation and it is not clear when he will return to the game.
