VIDEO: Swansea fans make light of Fergie's famous Van Persie comment

“Robin van Persie, we thought you were dead” was the popular chant at the Liberty Stadium.

YOU MAY REMEMBER Alex Ferguson’s remark about Robin van Persie, following Man United’s game with Swansea last season.

After defender Ashley Williams struck the ball against the prone Van Persie with the Dutchman in close proximity, Ferguson subsequently claimed in a post-match interview that his player “could have been killed”.

The then-United manager was subsequently mocked by many supporters for his hyperbolic reaction to the incident, and the Swansea fans joined in in the fun at the weekend.

Near the start of the game, noticing the player’s presence on the field, they began to sing: “Robin van Persie, we thought you were dead.”
