A GOAL FROM Limerick’s Rebecca Barry, playing for the Richmond Spiders against Temple, made ESPN’s top 10 plays in the States on Wednesday.
The midfielder tipped the ball past her bewildered opponents a number of times before lashing the ball home from an impossible angle, all inside the first minute of the game.

Richmond went on to win the match 4-1.
The 19-year-old was the captain of the Irish under-18 side that finished fourth in the European Championship in Utrecht, Holland, and was named in the Atlantic 10 Championship All-Tournament team after helping the Spiders to the title in 2011.
Barry was also named last year’s Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year.
