VIDEO: Keane and Beckham on target in eight-goal thriller

Scottish international Kris Boyd was also among the goals in the LA Galaxy’s 5-3 win last night.

TWO GOALS EACH from Robbie Keane and David Beckham helped the Los Angeles Galaxy a 5-3 win over Portland Timbers last night.

In front of a sell-out crowd of 20,438 at Jeld-Wen Field, former Rangers striker Kris Boyd opened the scoring for the home side before Beckham curled past Troy Perkins from 30 yards out after 19 minutes.

The ex-England captain, who wasn’t included in Stuart Pearce’s Team GB squad for the London Olympics, rolled back the years with a trademark free-kick minutes later.

Galaxy skipper Landon Donovan then gave his best Panenka impression from the spot and Ireland’s record goalscorer got in on the act with two tap-ins.

Before the final whistle, Timbers defender Kosuke Kimara and Boyd grabbed a couple more but the win moves Bruce Arena’s side up to fifth in the MLS West Conference as they continue their hunt for a play-off spot.
