VIDEO: James McClean scores his first league goal of the season

The Sunderland winger put his side ahead against Reading after just three minutes at the Stadium of Light.

JAMES MCCLEAN HAS endured a difficult second season in English football so far but after showing encouraging signs in recent weeks, the Derry winger has opened his Premier League account.

The 23-year-old, who has been working one-on-one with coach Steve Guppy to improve his game, took just three minutes to put the Black Cats in front against Reading tonight – picking up Adam Federici’s punch from a corner and firing first time into the bottom corner.

The home side lead 2-0 after Steven Fletcher doubled their advantage.
