VIDEO: Goran Popov apologises for spitting at Tottenham's Kyle Walker

The West Brom defender was sent off after the incident in the weekend defeat to Spurs at the Hawthorns.

WEST BROM’S GORAN POPOV has apologised for the spitting incident that saw him sent off in the weekend defeat by Tottenham at the Hawthorns.

The Macedonian defender saw red for spitting at Spurs’ full-back Kyle Walker during the Premier League match, with his manager Steve Clarke later saying he was ‘disgusted’ by the actions of the 28-year-old.

“I am disgusted. Goran knows it is wrong. The club will look at it and deal with it internally, and obviously he will be disciplined,” said the Scot.

“He’s let everyone down. We paid a big price and as a result lost the game.”

Popov says he intends to make a personal apology to Walker, adding: “I want to say sorry to all my friends, team-mates, to all the physical staff and the coaching staff.”
