VIDEO: The teaser trailer for ‘Jimmy’s Winnin’ Matches’

The documentary, which looks back on Donegal’s All-Ireland success, will air at 9.35pm on RTE One tonight.

DONEGAL’S ALL-IRELAND win will be put on historic record tonight with RTE to screen a documentary on Jim McGuinness’s side clinching Sam Maguire.

‘Jimmy’s Winnin’ Matches’ chronicles McGuinness’s two years in charge of the Donegal panel, taking them from the ashes of Crossmaglen and a first round qualifiers against Armagh in 2010 to successive Ulster championships and then the biggest prize of all.

McGuinness gives an exclusive interview from his home in Glenties and captain Michael Murphy, GAA/GPA Footballer of the Year Karl Lacey and the championship’s leading scorer, Colm McFadden, also give their thoughts on the journey.

Rory Kavanagh, Paul Durcan, Neil and Eamon McGee, Paddy McGrath, Martin and Mark McHugh also share their thoughts. Rory Gallagher, the Kilcar native, whose ‘Jimmy’s Winning Matches’ was the theme tune to the victory, also gives the background to the growth of his song.

The programme, which runs for an hour, is directed and produced by Joanne McGrath of Coco Television, and is edited by Michael Harte from Letterkenny.

Raphoe native Emmet Harte and Brendan ‘Bradas’ O’Donnell from Glenties provide the camera work and behind the scenes footage, while Alan Foley from Letterkenny and the Donegal Democrat is the researcher.

‘Jimmy’s Winnin’ Matches’ will be screened on RTE One television tonight at 9.35pm, and will be available to watch on the island of Ireland on the RTE Player.
