FIONNUALA BRITTON PRODUCED another exceptional performance to win the Great Edinburgh Cross Country race on Saturday.
The 28-year-old from Wicklow made it in a time of 20:40, 16 seconds quicker than the second-placed Adrienne Herzog.
Britton did slip coming out of a stream towards the end at Holyrood Park, providing a scare, but she managed to recover to seize victory.
Another Irish runner, Linda Byrne, finished sixth and only inches behind Anna Dulce Felix, the Portuguese runner and European Cross Country silver medallist.

Britton and Byrne were part of the Europe team that took overall team victory, ahead of both Great Britain/Northern Ireland and the USA.
