MANCHESTER UNITED CENTRE-BACK Victor Lindelof has provided an update on his health and revealed he hopes to be โback with the guysโ soon.
The Swedish international has not played for the Red Devils since the 1-0 win at Norwich on 11 December, a match where he had to be replaced in the second half due to breathing difficulties.
A subsequent Covid-19 outbreak at Old Trafford saw United have an enforced 16-day break before they returned to Premier League action with a 1-1 draw at Newcastle on Monday, but Lindelof was absent from the squad.
Interim boss Ralf Rangnick confirmed the defender had tested positive for coronavirus but the 27-year-old is in good spirits despite currently self-isolating at his home.
Lindelof, in an update on his Instagram story on Wednesday, said: โHi everyone, I just wanted to check in real quick and first of all say thank you for all your messages in these past couple of weeks and obviously the past couple of days as well.

Great to hear from you, @VLindelof ๐#MUFC
โIโve seen it so I just wanted to say that I really appreciate it, so thank you so much for that.
โAt the moment, Iโm just home. I feel fine so hopefully I can be back with the guys soon.โ
Lindelof was given a heart monitor after his substitution at Carrow Road but United confirmed he had โrecovered well from the episodeโ during a statement on Monday which revealed the centre-back had now contracted Covid-19.
He will remain unavailable for Thursdayโs home fixture with Burnley.
If his goal really is to win another champions league (thatโs obviously not going to happen at United in whatโs left of his career) then what genuine competitor for the tournament could afford him and more importantly actually want him?
@Gareth Keenan: i think he just wants to keep playing in the champions league, not necessarily win it again. Maybe he should consider an immediate loan spell with Rovers and help us push through to the group stages of it.
@Kevin: thereโs a thought!
@Kevin: that would be some story, I can see it nowโฆ
Big Cristiano fan throughout the years but surely even he must recognise that the equation probably wonโt add up the way he wants it too.
Big money + competitive champions league team + automatic starter in every game.is not realistic in my view.
He could probably find some good situations where he can get 2 of the 3.
Will be interested too see what happens. As a utd fan too I think that he might have to find a bit more humility Iโd he is to stay relevant in ETHโs plans. Still great on his day.
Even with this Dr Evil demand level of money, with his level of skill even at this stage in his career the Saudi League would be like if he rocked up to an adults five a side match in the park on a Sunday. Heโd be richer than rich but no way would he be satisfied professionally
Wants to leave but doesnโt want to go to any club who wants him
He Doesnโt need the money. Surprised someone like PSG didnโt go for him.
