Vegas on song in Vegas

Jhonattan Vegas continues to set the pace at the JT Open in Nevada, though a round of 61 has Hunter Haas on the move.

JHONATTAN VEGAS CONTINUED his scintillating form at the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas overnight.

The Venezuelan followed up his bogey-free first round with a card of 67 that included an eagle and four birdies and still leads the field, alongside Kevin Na and Charlie Wi.

Na recorded a 63 to move into contention and the trio now lead the event from three more competitors – Brendan Steele, Tim Herron and Kris Blanks – who are a single shot back on -11.

The round of the day was Hunter Haas’, however. The American collected an incredible nine birdies, one eagle and a bogey for a final tally of 61, a ten-under-par round, and is now in a share of seventh with eight other golfers – including one of Thursday evening’s leaders William McGirt.
